Returns & Refunds Policy

Last updated: 12.06.2026

At Pieces, we want you to be satisfied with your purchase. This Returns & Refunds Policy explains your rights under Irish and EU consumer law and how returns, cancellations, and refunds are handled when you purchase products from our website.

  1. Your Right to Cancel

If you are purchasing as a consumer, you have the legal right to cancel your order within 14 days without giving any reason.

The cancellation period expires 14 days after:

  • the day you receive the goods; or
  • where goods are delivered in multiple consignments, the day you receive the final item.

To exercise your right to cancel, you must notify us of your decision to cancel before the cancellation period expires.

You can notify us by:

  • email: info@pieces.ie
  • phone: 0894950238
  • or by writing to: Pieces.ie, 42/43 Prussia Street, Stoneybatter, Dublin 7 D07 NC56
  1. Returning Goods After Cancellation

Once you notify us that you wish to cancel your order, you must return the goods to us within 14 days of informing us of your cancellation.

Unless the goods are faulty, incorrect, or otherwise not in conformity with the contract, you are responsible for the direct cost of returning the goods.

We recommend using a tracked postal or courier service, as proof of return may be required.

  1. Refunds

Where you validly cancel your order, we will reimburse all payments received from you, including the standard cost of delivery.

We may make a deduction from the refund for any loss in value of goods supplied where the loss results from unnecessary handling by you beyond what is necessary to establish:

  • the nature of the goods;
  • the characteristics of the goods; or
  • how the goods function.

Refunds will be processed using the same payment method used for the original transaction unless otherwise agreed.

We will issue your refund within 14 days of:

  • receiving the returned goods; or
  • receiving evidence that the goods have been returned,

whichever occurs first.

  1. Furniture & Large Item Returns

Where you exercise your statutory right to cancel an online order within the applicable cancellation period, you may be responsible for the direct cost of returning or collecting furniture and other large items, where this has been disclosed before purchase.

If returned goods show signs of use, damage, assembly, modification, missing parts, or handling beyond what is necessary to establish their purpose and functioning, we may make a deduction from your refund to reflect any reduction in the value of the goods, as permitted by applicable consumer law.

Any such deduction will be proportionate to the actual loss in value of the returned item and will be explained to you where applicable.

Due to the size, handling, transport, and collection requirements associated with furniture and large items, returns of non-faulty furniture products may be subject to a collection charge this is to reflect our drivers time and cost for collection, as well as repackaging and handling.

Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights in relation to faulty, damaged, incorrect, or non-conforming goods. In such cases, your rights and remedies under consumer protection legislation remain unaffected.

  1. Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Items

If you receive goods that are:

  • faulty,
  • damaged,
  • defective,
  • not as described, or
  • incorrect,

please contact us as soon as possible at [Insert Contact Email].

Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights under Irish consumer protection law.

Where goods are faulty or not in conformity with the contract, you may be entitled to:

  • repair,
  • replacement,
  • price reduction,
  • refund,
  • or other remedies available under applicable law.
  1. Exceptions to the Right to Cancel

The right to cancel does not apply to certain goods and services, including where permitted by law:

  • personalised or custom-made goods;
  • sealed goods unsuitable for return for health or hygiene reasons once unsealed;
  • goods which become inseparably mixed with other items after delivery;
  • sealed audio, video, or software products once unsealed.

Where an exception applies, this will be clearly stated on the product page where relevant.

  1. Condition of Returned Goods

Please return goods in their original condition and packaging where reasonably possible.

You are only liable for any diminished value of goods resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics, and functioning of the goods.
